Welcome

On-Site Dental Hygiene Services serving the Merced, Stanislaus, and neighboring Counties!

Proper dental hygiene care is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being. A Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) has completed additional education and licensure in order to deliver dental hygiene services outside of a traditional dental office. This allows for patients of all ages, who cannot visit a dental office due to limitations caused by their state of health, to receive dental hygiene treatment.

Services are performed at the convenience of the patient’s location as a result of barriers to seek treatment in a dental office caused by aging, being homebound, and/or having a disability. Patients with complex physical, medical or psychological needs may seek treatment from an RDHAP. Services are also available to those living in underserved communities with dental office shortages. An RDHAP can deliver dental hygiene services at the place of residence of homebound individuals, schools, institutions, residence facilities, skilled nursing facilities, long term care, and even hospital settings.

Meet Your hygienist

Reynalda Brown, RDHAP

Reynalda obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2015. Since then, she has worked in private practice with patients of all ages. In 2023, she completed the RDHAP program at UOP Dugoni and is licensed to provide dental hygiene services at the comfort of your location, or that of a loved one. We travel to deliver care to you. We will communicate with your medical team to ensure that you are properly cared for.

Reynalda is ready communicate with you, or a loved one, in the English or Spanish language.

All CDC and OSHA guidelines are followed just like traditional dental offices are required to. Biological spore testing is completed in order to verify sterilizer performance and ensure the safety of our patients by assessing and assuring proper sterilization of dental instruments. Disposable, single-use items are used whenever there is an opportunity. Your health and safety is our priority!

OSHA approved PPE is worn at each appointment.

Reynalda is more than happy to answer any further questions you may have!

Oral Health Education/Recommendations

For Patient & Caregiver

Proper oral health education and instruction will be delivered and reviewed with patient, family members and/or caregivers. We will review the proper routine and products recommended for our patients to maintain optimal oral hygiene at home.

Medical Clearance

As Needed

A process between a patient and their healthcare provider to ensure that the patient’s medical status is known and that the planned treatment is safe. We will describe our treatment plan thoroughly in writing and your healthcare provider will determine if any antibiotic premedication (with dosage) is required prior to delivering dental hygiene services.

Dental Hygiene Standing Order

AFTER 18 months

State of CA REQUIRES a standing order from the patient’s dentist, physician, or specialist AFTER 18 months since initial treatment date in order to continue delivering on-site services. A new standing order is valid based on professional judgement of prescriber and is not to exceed 2 years since date of issuance.

Emergency Evaluations & Referrals

As Needed

On-call emergency assessments are available. If a patient presents with conditions that require a dentist, patients may return to their DDS of record OR we may help you find a new one. Upon the dental hygiene assessment completion, we may also provide a referral if there are observations that raise concern.
